Activities To Do This Mother’s Day With Your Kids
Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and if you’re still looking for a few last-minute cost-effective activities that mom can do with the kids this year, Aunt Jackie’s has got you covered. Though you may think mom wants lavish gifts every year for the day that celebrates all that she is, the one thing she probably wants most—and will cherish forever—is simply just time with her family. Make her wish come true this year with these fun activities that can be done with kids this Mother’s Day.
Bake something together.
Whether you like cakes and pies or pizzas that are DIY, baking something together for Mother’s Day could be a thoughtful activity for both mom and the kids this year. Baking together will give you time well spent with your little ones and give you both the opportunity to flex your creative muscles. And, if you want to take it a step further, having your own baking competition could produce both fun and interesting results.
Have a tea party-themed brunch.
Since Mother’s Day just so happens to fall on a Sunday, it’s the perfect day to have a delicious brunch. Instead of going out to a brunch spot this year though, get the gang all dressed up in their fanciest attire and throw your own tea party-themed brunch at home! It doesn’t matter if you choose to do it picnic-style on the lawn or decorate the dining room table to beautifully reflect your taste, this themed brunch will be all that you wished for and more. Who said little girls are the only ones who can have tea parties?
Go on a scavenger hunt.
Scavenger hunts are some of the easiest and most fun ways to celebrate any event and Mother’s Day is no different. Break the family up into teams and send them on a hunt to find everything on the list. You can even include cute, memorable items such as making each kid find an old photo of them and mom. Having them make videos of reasons why they appreciate mom is another sweet option to add in, too. Regardless of what you add on the list for the teams to find, the most important part is that hey are giving mom the one thing she’ll never get tired of: precious time together.
Have an at-home self-care day.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, heading to a spa may not be possible for mom to do this year. That doesn’t mean, however, that she can’t have a self-care day at-home. And, she can even bring the kids in on it, too! If the kids are old enough, they can treat mom to a relaxing day of DIY hair washing and styling (using The Grapeseed Collection from Aunt Jackie’s, of course!), nail painting, and massages. You can even use our Soft All Over — Multi-Purpose Oil to help with all three of those tasks, too! Just don’t forget to add in mom’s favorite candle and some fresh flowers to help her state of relaxation.
Document your day.
Make the day one that mom truly can’t forget by taking along a Polaroid camera to document the big day. Whether you kick things off with breakfast in bed or choose to have a themed brunch, mom deserves to remember the day exactly as it happened. After you’ve finished all of your activities together, wrap up the day by creating a scrapbook filled with memories that she can cherish forever.
